Aicon’s legacy continues with architectural design leadership of world renowned Sergio Cutolo, founder of Hydro-Tec in Italy. Aicon’s newly designed models benefit from Sergio’s years of experience creating award winning mega yachts.
The Sicilian brand was founded in 1993 in Milan as a company for design, manufacture and supply of furnishings for high end Hotels and VIP suits for cruise Ships. In 1996 the company moves to Sicily and continues to build furnishings and becomes supplier for largest yacht manufacturer, Azimut Yachts. In 1999 moves into the world of luxury yacht building by presenting soon after the successful Aicon 56 awarded for the best boat in the Flybridge sector between 50 and 60 feet, at the Festivale de la Plaisance in Cannes.
Aicon Yachts introduced to the USA Market with immediate success in the Latin-American Market. Aicon ’64 Fly defines what has become Aicon’s signature features: modern interior and large round hull window, awarded with the World Yacht Trophy in the Flybridge 60 to 70 feet category. The company enters the Open superyacht sector with Aicon 72 LS. With the new production site in Villafranca Tirrena in Sicily begins the distribution to the Middle East. The Open line expanded with the launch of the Aicon 62 Open motoryacht. Represented a very important year in the shipyards history, when the new M/Y Aicon 85 Fly was launched. Then the company goes public on the Milan STAR exchange. Launch of Aicon 75 Fly yacht at the Festivale de la Plaisance in Cannes. Stylish and sporty mega yacht series.
Regrettably World wide Great Recession begins. Aicon 58 Fly is re-designed, now representing AICON’s signature large Round hull window. In 2009 Aicon Yachts LTD is further established in the Asian Markets. In 2010 Aicon 82 LS is introduced to world wide acclaim and awards. In 2011 Design and manufacturing begins for the Navetta Series with the Aicon 110. After years fighting the great recession, declining world-wide sales while having to meet Stock Market requirements, Aicon Yachts faces re-structuring. However in 2018 Marc-Udo Broich & John Venners acquire the brands AICON & AICON YACHTS with Marc-Udo Broich as Chairman/CEO of Aicon Group LLC and John P Venners Partner Aicon Group LLC to hire the renowned yacht designer/ architect Sergio Cutolo to work with the team in re-designing the model range. New philosophy in distribution is set up, with the introduction of Factory Direct AICON YACHTS BOUTIQUES. In 2020 we have the introduction of the new Aicon Yachts 66.
