Intermarine is developing and producing vessels for defence and civil use, as well as marine systems and components. Founded as a naval shipyard specialized in design and manufacture of marine craft in Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (GRP), Intermarine initially took up the production of leisure boats. As early as 1970, when most craft made in GRP were still relatively small was recognized the potential of this material and began to carry out researches into new resin and glass fiber formulation, so to make them suitable for the construction of large vessels, as well as to develop innovative methods of construction, and quickly became a world leader in the field of shipbuilding in composite materials, mainly of Mine Countermeasures Vessels (MCMVs). The main potential characteristic of Intermarine is the capability to develop, design, build and test the vessel following, in details, the customer requirements and studying the best technical solution in terms of material (aluminum or GRP). The design of Intermarine products is mostly carried out within the R&D department, with the support, for specific and very peculiar aspects, of the most renowned Italian and international Companies. The R&D center  exploits significant resources in research for the benefit of future production programs. At Intermarine, quality is a fundamental operating principle. The Quality Management System is strictly enforced in all steps of design and construction of vessels production.

MCMVS Intermarine is worldwide renowned for its sophisticated Mine Countermeasure Vessels (MCMVs) in composite material, supplied to many of the world leading Navies. FPB Intermarine is worldwide renowned for its Fast Patrol Boats and Fast Patrol Vessels, in composite material and aluminium. Intermarine has also designed and built Hydrographic Survey Vessels in composite material. The design and construction of aluminum Fast Ferries has been for many years the core business of Rodriquez Cantieri Navali, that has built a significant number of Fast Ferries in the range from 30 to 115 meters for operators from all over the world. Today the production of fast ferries is focused on vessels of smaller size, ranging from 40 to 70 meters, with different types of hulls: monohull, catamaran, wave-piercing catamaran and hydrofoil, all highly technological, where speed, reduced consumption and comfort outline their hallmarks.

The technical office is focused on solutions to reduce the fuel consumption and the environmental impact, always taking into consideration the increase of passengers comfort, also in adverse sea conditions. A dedicated and specialized department of Intermarine designs and produces, since 1998, auxiliary on-board components, such as monitoring and control systems, hydraulic systems, and stabilization systems. These high-tech systems and components are installed onboard several types of ships (mono hull, catamarans, hydrofoils, wave piercing). The specialists of the Rodriquez Marine Systems (RMS) Department of Intermarine offer their capability to tailor their products to customer’s requirements also for other shipyards.
