The Permare Group was founded in 1973 to offer nautical services to the growing clientele from Liguria and the nearby French Riviera. In the early 90s, after having also been a dealer and builder on behalf of another Italian shipyard, the Permare shipyard began building boats with its own brand, “Amer Yachts”, which would become synonymous with quality and customization in the boats and ships segment. The Group is a family-run company and today sees three generations as protagonists, the founder Fernando Amerio and his sons, Barbara and Rodolfo, who work in an operational way within the group and a third generation that is peeking out.

Over the past 40 years, the shipyard has produced a craft production considered to be a niche, over 80 yachts built to measure for an Italian and foreign clientele.Currently the Permare Group is also composed of the Cantiere Sanremo Ship, the Cantieri del Mediterraneo and the Cantieri del Ponente. Three structures that over time have strengthened regarding shipbuilding and which offer services and processes for all types of boats from Sanremo to Imperia, both for routine maintenance and for important refitting interventions. Within the Permare Group there is also a brokerage department for the resale of used boats and a charter department for all those customers who prefer to rent their boat, between 20 and 60 m, for their holidays throughout the world.

The strengths of the shipyard, which have made it possible to overcome the severe crisis in the sector, are having focused on quality, innovation and after-sales service, having been able to adapt to an increasingly international and fickle clientele while maintaining a “family feeling” and always reinvesting profits in the company to develop new projects.The hulls have been exported to the USA, the Middle East, Arab countries and the Far East, in addition to the large number of units present in the Mediterranean.
Always ready to take on new challenges to improve performance, reduce consumption and raise customer awareness through an eco-sustainability concept applied to pleasure boating. That of the Amerio family is a real passion for the sea handed down from generation to generation and able, through companies, to generate an important supply on the Ligurian territory. There is a natural inclination of the Shipyard to support training annually through collaborations with universities (Bocconi, Istituto Marangoni, IED – European Institute of Design and IAAD – Italian University of Design) to encourage development and research and promote innovation in Design and above all to raise awareness of future designers towards a combination of design and environmental respect above all.
