DE BASTO DESIGN
The DESIGNER WITH THE MIDAS TOUCH
Every designer has their own unique approach to yacht design and for Luiz DeBasto this means having a completely open mind and looking at each client request as an opportunity, not a problem.
“From bow to stern, no matter how far apart they are, there’s always an interesting boat to be designed”. One of the last creations of DeBasto has been DAR, the extraordinary exterior style of this award-winning 90m Oceanco yacht matched by an equally extraordinary interior layout, which makes full use of floor-to-ceiling windows to create unobstructed views over the water.
One of my favorite projects is VECTOR with huge surfaces of glass, the material of the future. The entire superstructure of Vector is created from an exceptional amount of continuous curved and angled glass. Glass is utilized in this yacht not only as a design feature but as a construction material. The whole enclosed part of the superstructure is floor-to-ceiling glass because it’s facing forward and more exposed to the weather.
